On their 6th visit to the Golowan Festival in Penzance this summer, Mid Argyll Pipe Band will be appearing live, supporting Cetic punk exponents Neck at the Saturday night Festival headline concert. Rehearsals are underway for this major appearance with a capacity crowd of over 500 anticipated in the main Festial venue on Saturday June 27th.

Continuing their successful collaboration with Blackwood & Hickory producers Wild Biscuit Music, Mid Argyll are looking forward to bringing new Band members into the concert fold and crafting a high energy set for the gig.
London based Neck with their Pogue-ish Clash inspired folkabilly are playing many festivals all over Europe this year and the pipes and drums of Mid Argyll are gearing up to make the Golowan show a night to remember.

Mid Argyll Pipe Band are no strangers to the Golowan Festival having been regular visitors since 1998. This year, in addition to the Saturday concert, the Band will be on parade for the Mazey Day celebrations and performing at various locations around Penzance over the three days of the Festival. We’ll be posting pictures and reports from the Festival here following what looks set to be a 2009 highlight. | ||

Penzance’s famous Golowan Festival will take place from 20th - 28th June, with Mazey Day on Saturday 27th. Among booked artists are the remains of the Bonzo Dog band, Glastonbury Celtic-punk favourites Neck and the joyous Bollywood Brass Band, and new venues include The Exchange Gallery and Penzance’s art-deco The Ritz.
